Donaar, a Dragonborn Paladin of Kelemvor,
Travok, a Dwarvin Cleric of Kelemvor,
myself - En'Kethradath, an Eladrin War Wizard,
Vakkar, a Shifter Ranger,
Kaayakan, a wolf Companion.
The hallway stretches before us. Vakkar attaches a sunrod to his wolf, Kaayakan’s collar, to light the hallway.
We travel the hall until we come to a large dusty room with many boxes and crates. From the corners comes a chittering noise and spiders drop from the ceiling.
Keth throws a Freezing Cloud into the midst of the four spiders and the spider-man like creature takes more damage and Vakkar states that it let out a high pitched whistle. The Ettercap webspinner spews out a web net and critically injures Donaar restraining him. Vakkar charges a spider, but misses. A spider leaps 30 ft over a crate to attack Donaar! Donaar retaliates. A spider springs over to attack Kaayakan, and Vakkar tries to hit it, but misses. Kaayakan is hurt with poison and is slowed by the attack. Travok swings at the spider that attacked Donaar but misses it. Another spider attacks Vakkar, missing him. The spider on the ceiling moves through the Freezing Cloud and attacks the dwarf, Travok, but misses him.
Keth throws out a chilling cloud at the spiders attacking Donaar and Travok, missing them but they still have a hard time hitting the boys. The Ettercap attacks Vakkar. Kaayakan, the wolf, moves to attack the Ettercap. Vakkar attacks the spiders that opportunely attack Kaayakan. The spiders keep attacking the party and we try to squish them. I hear the door behind us open. Five ugly scary looking critters appear behind us.
Vakkar is in trouble as after he kills the Ettercap as he goes after another spider but doesn’t kill it. Donaar attacks the bloodied spider then moves to face the Fangguards with axes. Heroically, Travok kills a spider and calls upon the Raven Queen to heal Vakkar. Keth moves a light onto Donaar’s axe, teleports to see the spider attacking Kaayakan, and kills it with a Magic Missile. The Fangs move to surround Kaayakan. So while Vakkar shifts around and attacks one of the fangs moving it, Kaayakan shifts around in a fancy move to flank it.
Those swift-footed spiders start to annoy Travok as he keeps swinging his hammer and missing the shifty spiders. A spider attacks Keth but misses. Keth uses chilling cloud on two of the fangs surrounding Kaayakan. Vakkar attacks an his quarry, an Ettercap Fangguard, and bloodies it with ongoing damage. Travok misses the spider that then misses him. One of the Fangs comes over and tries to throw some goo on Keth, but she uses shield and it hits the shield instead. Vakkar kills his quarry and Keth uses Color Spray on some Ettercap fangs to daze them.
Travok attacks a spider and finally hits one bloodying it. The spiders surround Travok but seem to be unable to hit him. The fangs move around a bit but are unable to damage any of the party. Keth shifts away from the spider and attacks with a magic missile and kills it, then she attacks an Ettercap but misses him. Donaar misses again. Travok begins to move but is attacked by the spider who slows him. The fangs move in closer and spit goo but miss both Vannak and Keth.
Keth moves and hits the fangs with chilling cloud. Donaar used his cool power to rid himself of immobilization and moves down the hall. Travok finally hits the spider killing it covering himself in spider goo. Vannak is immobilized and is hit by a Fang’s attack. Donaar keeps his two Fangs busy til Travok moves in and attack Donaar’s Marked Fang, killing it.
Donaar does a doubletake at Travok goo covered appearance, and says “I was doing fine by myself.”
A Fang critically attacks Vannak and stuns and poisons him. Travok gets immobilized and now everyone is immobilized but Keth. Keth keeps using chilling cloud on the spaces surrounding Vannak to keep the Fangs from killing him. The Fangs keep attacking Vannak and really hurts him, Vannak falls to the ground… the wolf attacks the fang that attacked her master bloodying him and Vannak rallies from certain death.
Keth magic missiles the bloodied fang. From his position on the ground Vannak attacks the fangs that go after Kaayakan. Keth conjures Bigby’s Icy Grasp and crushes one of the Fangs attacking Vannak. Vannak misses the other Fang and so does Keth’s ‘Hand’. The last Fang is killed.
We check out the rest of the rooms then head back to the Water Trap Room to heal and rest again.
