ROSK: Epilogue 23 Flamerule 1479 DR

The Order of the Red Circle consists of:
Donaar, a Dragonborn Paladin of Kelemvor,
Travok, a Dwarvin Cleric of Kelemvor,
Scapin the Sly, a Halfling Rogue &
myself - En'Kethradath, an Eladrin War Wizard.

Keth believes that if we had the right components and took the day she and Travok could make up an impromptu ritual to break the magic, and the pillars could indeed be destroyed. She figures that if the pillars are destroyed it should break the magic that binds them, but if we don’t break the pillars, then Netheril agents can come back and enslave Lady Sahariel.
Travok notes that souls have been trapped this way before, enslaved and imprisoned, usually tied to an object, something personal,
if we break the prison she could be released, but we would need to find the objects to release her, and there might be multiple things to destroy before she can be released.

There is someone new at the monastery.
We go to the library upstairs with the monks at the monastery. They show us historical documents and scrolls, and tell us to start there, but after looking around we head over to another section to start reading, finding in the records a reference of an artifact that came through Spellguard and was being transferred somewhere else. From the description it appears that it was the Bell of Sorrows. The record doesn’t say where it came from or where it went afterward. It also appears that the monks are not really making money, Spellguard isn't a strong livelihood, its the dwarven whiskey trade that is making the money. We decide to take the all of the pillars into the tower and destroy them there, just in case something goes wrong.

We move the pillars to the tower, and then all the rest of the pillars to the roof. In the kitchens, Donaar rings the bell, thinking it might be the bell we are looking for… but its not. We loot the tower for wood and bedding and oil from lanterns… and stack everything up. Keth scribes the runes for this ritual within two circles, Donnar and Travok add a prayer to Kelemvor and then we lit the pyre. Whoosh! Fire starts spinning and swirling hundreds of feet in the air, eventually the alabaster pillars break down into a grey-white chalky ooze. And then a bluish dome breaks down the magics and the slag becomes Residuim.
Lady Saharel is now absent from the tower. We decide to go back through the catacombs rather than out the front door, just incase. We get back to the monastery all dirty and wet and sooty.

Brother Turnagall & Yannick, are staring and speechless at our rather bedraggled appearance. Ralio the tiefling has a cup in hand and is still drinking. Millik, the halfling is still missing. Sister Chara is talking with the other monks when she notices that we came back and are all covered in water and dirt and soot. She comes over and whispers to us.

“You don’t have to tell me, I know you guys did something but what did you all do? Did this have to do with the Netheril agents that were here.”
Travok, “The Netheril agents you didn’t tell us about
“I was just here to observe”
Donnar “We took the first steps to removing Lady Saharel.
“Really?!!! That was you on top of the tower?”
"Yes"
Travok just grunts
Keth says “We’re good like that.”

She seems to be milking us for information. Turns out shes part of ‘The Harpers’ and will contact us in the future. The Harpers were a part of fighting off the Netheril empire the last time so it makes perfect sense why they are here thwarting the recent activities of the Netherese.

As we are standing out front, several people start shouting, and then one flies across the yard and smacks into a tree. It's Vannak and his entourage.
“You! You will answer for this. You will come with us and answer to our Mistress.”
Keth turns to Donaar “Your society isn’t matriarchial is it?
No.
To the Dragonborn “We don’t answer to you or your mistress.
“We were going to ask questions of Lady Saharel. You have ruined that! Put down your weapons and come with us now!!!”
Travok “Get your mistress and bring her back here
“Silly Dwarf, our mistress can’t be bothered by the likes of you… you will put down your arms and come with us.” At this point Donaar tells us that he believes the Dragonborn to be traitors as they are still serving a Dragon. We tell them again we aren’t going to go. “Lower your weapons and prepare to be shackled to come with us.”
That’s not gonna happen.

Scapin attacks and misses, a Dragonborn charges and attacks and throws its cold breath hitting everyone but Keth. Travok moves up and uses Hymn of Resurgence, and says “I ain’t wearing no chains, Slavers!” A Dragonborn snipes at Donaar and though it misses, he realizes that the arrows are poisoned. Another Dragonborn charges Travok and swings wildly missing him. Then he breathes on him and misses Travok but hits and kills a monk. The sniper swipes at Keth and misses her. Vannak moves forward and attacks Donaar. The Keth activates her fire shield and moves sets an Acid Mire on Vannak and his friend, then moves past them to help out Travok. Vannak attacks her and marks her as she moves past. Donaar attacks the soldier and attacks him, he shifts and they both attack him. Turnagall gets into the fray and moves over to one of the snipers and attacks him missing him, but the sniper retaliates and knocks him out.

Scapin takes the initiative and attacks the prone soldier killing him and then as an adaptable flanker attacks Vannak hurting him. Vannak moves back into the mire and swings at Donaar and Scapin. Then shifts again. Keth attacks and misses Vannak then moves toward the Snipers with a purpose. Scapin attacks Vannak and deals out some damage to him. Travok heals Donaar who is bloodied, and then attacks Vannak, then catches his second wind. Keth attacks the sniper with acid arrow, feysteps next to him and sends out a magic missile at his buddy but it becomes acid when she uses her Caustic Gloves and then sustains the Acid Mire, saying
That's how a real sniper attacks.

Donaar critically attacks Vannak and hurts him badly. Scapin then moves around to behind Vannak and stabs him in the back with Trick Strike. Travok cracks Vannok across the face, causing him to fall into the Keth's Acid Mire. Keth Color Sprays the Sniper Dragonborn nearest her killing him. Donaar charges the other Sniper and Scapin joins him. Travok swings at the Soldier and hurts him, but the Soldier retaliates and criitically injures Travok. Keth moves toward the soldier and taunts him as she critically attacks him with a Magic Missile. Then Donaar charges him and kills him with an axe in his back.

We heal the monk and Brother Turnagall. Sister Chara comes out and checks on us and then says
You guys might want to check on Vannak's camp.”

We hurry over to the camp but it doesn’t appear that there are any Dragonborn left there. “Look, Egg Babies!
Travok, put it down it’s a Rock.
It appears that they have been gone at least a couple of days. We find a human female tied to a post in one of the tents. Donaar unties her and she has been beaten severely. Travok heals her, but when she sees Donaar she starts screaming. Donaar leaves the tent and she stops screaming. Keth gives her some water… but she seems sorely abused. She doesn’t seem like she can walk. She tells Keth that her name is Mel. She is from waterdeep, loudwater, she never saw Lady Sahariel, she lied and said she saw her, and Vannak grabbed her. She was looking for her dead brother.
Vannak is dead. I hope you learned your lesson about lying.

Yannick is waiting for us when we return to the monastery. He asks if we have cleared out the tower and if Lady Saharel is still here.
We cleared the tower.”
You might find her here, you might find her elsewhere.”
The human asks “Where might he find her?” He appears right behind Keth. He seems to want to offer his services to them. Curivar sent Durnan to check up on us. So he says and so says the note in Donaar’s belt, he is most likely a Warlock. Seems though that no one even noticed us talking.
